China's polysilicon imports fall 6% in Aug 

Social inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port expanded 2,000 mt from the previous week to 42,000 mt as of Friday July 30.

Silicon prices rose sharply after the National Day holidays, the metallurgical grade low-grade specifications rose about 1,000 yuan in less than one month, and the metallurgical grade high-grade silicon and chemical grade silicon also increased about 400-600 yuan/mt.

Social inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port shrank 1,000 mt from the previous week to 71,000 mt as of Friday November 6.

Four silicon plants in Nujiang of Yunnan province, one of China’s major silicon production areas, nearly halved its capacity in operation on April 23, as power supply was disrupted amid maintenance of local power stations.

At Huangpu port, 553# that did not undergo oxygen refining traded at 10,150 yuan/mt on Aug 21, up 200 yuan/mt from Aug 19

Some producers withheld from selling and held products within their plants amid bullish outlook on prices

This prevented a domestic shortage while restrictions, ban lowered imports in physical volumes
